Our Legacy of Compassion
Dr. Om Prakash Gupta began a simple yet profound tradition. A compassionate physician who offered free medicines to the needy, he believed that true healing extended beyond the clinic. Together with his devoted wife, Shakuntala Devi, their elder son Sh. Naresh Goel and with help of other community members, he started a free food bhandara at the local Shiv Mandir for Kanwariyas and temple visitors at the time of Shraavan Shivratri. With contributions from kind-hearted locals and their own resources, they served warm, nourishing meals to anyone who came hungry — no questions asked, no expectations in return.
This act of Anna Daan — the sacred offering of food — was more than charity; it was an expression of love, dharma and the belief that feeding the hungry is one of the highest forms of service. Dr. Om Prakash Gupta believed that compassion has no boundaries and through his quiet/humble dedication, he sowed seeds of kindness that continue to flourish today.
Continuing the Legacy
In loving memory of his father, Sh. Naresh Goel revived and expanded this spirit of seva. Inspired by the values of Seva (selfless service), Sanskaar (moral values) and Samarpan (dedication) that Dr. Om Prakash embodied, he founded the Dr. Om Prakash Seva Trust to carry forward the family legacy in a structured way.
What began as one man’s vision is now a shared family mission. This noble mission is now being lovingly continues through entire family — Sh. Naresh Goel & Smt. Vandana Goel, along with their children Yogesh & Shalini and Taniya & Harshit – with the same spirit of dedication and compassion.
Today, the trust continues this sacred work with the same humble heart by
- Providing nutritious meals through weekly Food Seva distributions, echoing the bhandara started decades ago.
- Supporting Gau Seva (cow care) by contributing to the feeding, protection, and well-being of cows.
Further, Trust is in process of starting following initiatives:
- Supporting education through scholarships for underprivileged students.
- Offering free/affordable health check-ups and medical camps to bring healing to those in need.
- Distribution of medicines to those who cannot afford essential treatment.
